Bilenchi Collection

Romano Bilenchi, who was born in Colle in 1909, was one of Italy's foremost writers, men of letters and thinkers in the aftermath of World War II. His collection was donated to the Comune di Colle Val d'Elsa by his wife Maria Ferrara.

The ground-floor rooms host a careful selection of works from the writer's considerable library, in the state in which he left it. The work of Ottone Rosai, Moses Levy and Mino Maccari tells us the story of Romano Bilenchi's formative years, enriching the picture painted by his literary works and helping to define his personality in greater detail.
